Born in Bologna in 1977. He started his career being the tour photographer of the famous Italian singer Vasco Rossi, in 2003 and 2004.
In 2005 he art directed the photographic book Sfrido (published by Damiani Editore), a project by the Municipality of Bologna.
From 2005 to 2009 he has been represented by Grazia Neri Agency, with whom he has been published in important magazines worldwide. In Italy he was the recipient of the Iceberg Award, promoted by the Municipality of Bologna, the Canon Italia Award, the Alberobello Portfolio Award, the Fnac European Talent Latent Award.
Since 2007 he has been based in Barcelona. In Spain he won the Professional Scholarship of the Albarracin Seminary and the Photography Award given by the Biennal of Girona. His projects Limbo and Transmediterranea have been funded by the CoNCA, the Catalan Council of Culture and Art, in 2009 and 2010. In 2009 he won second prize for single pictures in the daily life category of the World Press Photo Award and the IPA Honorable Mention.
In 2010 he won the Mare Nostrum Award, promoted by Grimaldi Shipping Company. In 2011 he collaborated with the n.g.o. M.S.F. (Doctors without Borders) at the project From Hell to Limbo, documenting the migration flows through the southern Mediterranean. In 2012 he was invited for an artist in residence program by the Grid Fotofestival (Netherlands). In 2013 he won the Fotopres Award promoted by the Caixa Foundation, to document the struggle of young Afghans migrants in Greece. In 2014 he was the recipient of the MIA Award of the MIA Photographic Fair.
In 2015 he was able to publish his first photo book 6th Continent, thanks to a crowd funding campaign that reached the 115 percent of the goal. Since 2015 he's producing brand storytelling videos for the supermarket chain Coop Italia.
His images are conserved by the Nicephore Niepce Foundation in Chalon sur Saone.
